History of the model

1958, Aston Martin caused a sensation at the London and Paris motor shows by presenting the unprecedented DB4.

It is she who founded the modern era of the firm and who will create, with its derivatives, the highly valued image of the brand.

It was the first Aston Martin built in the Newport Pagnell factory (Buckinghamshire), formerly Salmons and Tickfords.

Under the hood of the DB4 hides an aluminum twin-shaft in-line six-cylinder engine.

Designed by Tadek Marek, this archi-British mechanism bears a striking resemblance to the six-cylinder Jaguar XK. Super square (92 x 92 millimeters),

This 3,670 cc unit develops, with two SU HD8 carburettors, a power of 243 horsepower at 5,500 rpm(the model we are offering you has been equipped with three double Weber body carburettors, mounted on the vantage model, we will be able to replace them and reinstall its two original SU HD8s) .

It gives the Aston Martin DB4 a speed of 225 km/h and 0 to 100 km/h in 9 seconds. It is mated to a David Brown four-speed gearbox.

The rear axle consists of a rigid axle, with struts and Watt bar, braking is provided by Girling discs on all four wheels.

Over the years the model was divided into5Series and 4 complementary versions.

A versionVantagewhich offers 255 hp (81 examples produced between 1962 and 1963).
